This class will explore the technique and repertoire of famed father of Bluegrass Bill Monroe. This class will address Monroe's unique approach to fiddle tunes and vocal numbers. Learn critical techniques that will help you explore the legacy of one of America's most famed musicians. Mandolin players would be advised to have a prerequisite knowledge of chop chords and basic knowledge of Fiddle Tune/Bluegrass song repertoire. Special attention will be paid to Monroe's recordings on the Decca label. Please note this is a no tab class class. (Recordings of songs and examples will be provided at the end of every session).
