Traditional Dobro Stylings of Bashful Brother Oswald & Uncle Josh Graves

As a new dobro player, immersing yourself in a fundamental style can provide a solid foundation for your future playing! In this class, we will take a look at some techniques for squareneck dobro in standard G tuning commonly used by Bashful Brother Oswald (Roy Acuff) and Uncle Josh Graves (Flatt & Scruggs). This includes but is not limited to: use of harmonics (“chimes”), forward and reverse slants, use of tremolo, use of double stops (3rds & 6ths), common turnarounds, and string pulls.
